After surviving a devastating house fire that changed his life, Derek, alongside his wife Ashley, decided to purchase Hilltop Sports—a place where Derek had dedicated many years of his career. Together, they invested significant time, energy, and resources into the business. Their dedication quickly paid off, as Hilltop Sports has seen tremendous growth under their ownership. In just a few short years, Derek and Ashley have transformed Hilltop into a premier retailer, reflecting their commitment to both the store and the community it serves.

​Hilltop Sports has grown to employ nearly 30 people and boasts the area's largest selection of hunting, fishing, archery, and firearms gear and accessories. Additionally, the store offers a complete archery service center, catering to all levels of archery enthusiasts.
