  • Developing a personal and home protection plan

  • Self-defense firearms basics

  • Shooting fundamentals

  • Violent encounters and the aftermath

  • Basic and advanced skills

  • Additional coverage: personal safety, handgun safety, handgun operation, handgun selection, physiological reactions during violent encounters

A Trusted Curriculum: Over 1 million students have taken USCCA course offerings across the country.

After this Class: You’ll understand essential firearm safety, terminology, and how those fundamentals apply to home and self-defense—so you can make clearer, safer decisions during high-stress situations.

Michigan CPL Requirement: This training course satisfies MCL 28.425j (1927 PA 372, Sec. 5j)—a program of at least 8 hours total, including 3 hours of range time and a minimum of 30 rounds fired.

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Michigan CPL training certificate that’s ready to submit with your application to your local county clerk.

What to Expect: We start the class with a quick check-in and admin (paperwork), then do introductions and a legal/use-of-force video. From there, we move into guided classroom instruction covering the core CPL and self-defense fundamentals.

After a lunch break, you’ll travel to the range for approximately 3 hours of live-fire training. On the range, you’ll fire your handgun in 4–5 coached iterations from 2, 4, and 7 yards, with a minimum of 30 rounds.

Summary: Our goal is to teach safe, responsible firearm handling with clear, step-by-step instruction that builds real confidence.

If you’re brand new to firearms or feeling unsure, let us know at check-in—we’ll make time for a little extra one-on-one help!
